The Hominum Group focuses on providing small to medium employers with expert advice in both fields. We initially opened a IR consultation company to assist employers with their interactions with Unions and other stakeholders on plant level and at CCMA and later started the training division to further assist in the health and safety of the company's employees. The OHS act with its safety regulation or safety act, or general safety regulation states that every employer needs to have at least one fire aider and firefighter on site during working hours. The Act goes on to explain employers must train one first aider for every 50 employees.

Most labour dept inspectors will issue compliance certificates and give employers 30 days to remedy the problem. In severe cases the department of labour could also close the company down until compliance can be proven.
